About:
Paul has lived in Bloomington since 2012 with his wife, two daughters, and a Golden Doodle named Phoebe. He enjoys listening to and collecting vinyl records, playing the guitar, writing and recording music, drawing, making things out of clay, and doing just about anything else creative. Paul is a Chicago Cubs fan and enjoys watching baseball until the Cubs inevitably make a careless mistake at which point he turns off the TV to go do something more enjoyable.
Theoretical Framework and Modalities:
Paul focuses on meeting the client where they are at and going at the client’s preferred pace. Paul practices from a trauma informed lens and is intentional about creating a safe space for each client to feel emotionally grounded, comfortable, and welcome. Paul utilizes modalities such as CBT, DBT, Talk therapy, expressive arts, sand tray. Paul enjoys incorporating the client’s interests, hobbies, and activities throughout sessions.
Paul’s Typical Clientele:
Paul believes that building rapport and a trusting relationship with his clients is the most important building block to begin the journey of personal improvement.Paul works with kids ages 5 and up and adults. While Paul works with all genders, he currently is primarily working with boys and men. Paul has a lot of experience working with neurodivergent children who have ADHD, Autism, Trauma, etc.
Education and Training:
Paul achieved his Master of Social Work from Illinois State University in 2019. He is currently training in EMDR.
